For our Church,
Let us celebrate both our unity in Christ
and our diversity of language, nationality and way of life.
We pray to the Lord.
For our world,
For peace, for justice, for truth, for freedom,
For healing of all that divides us.
We pray to the Lord.
For all who today live in fear,
For all held captive by the shackles of poverty,
the bonds of addiction
or the ties that bind souls to bitterness and hostility.
We pray to the Lord.
For a healing of our earth,
For rains to nourish the soil,
and sun to beckon forth new growth.
We pray to the Lord.
For the courage to speak out for all who are hungry, outcast, or bullied,
For an unquenchable commitment to the power of love.
We pray to the Lord.
For an enlightenment of our minds,
That we may know hope in times of darkness
And wisdom in times of distress and confusion.

For the audacity to proclaim the gospel,
Especially in the face of bigotry, greed or selfish power.
