Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
May our Church be a beacon of Christ’s light
wherever the darkness of injustice, bigotry or hatred lingers.
We pray to the Lord.
May our country heed the prophet’s cry
to give shelter to refugees and the homeless,
food to all who hunger, and care for all who are afflicted.
We pray to the Lord.
May we labor to remove oppression, false accusation and malicious speech from our lives.
We pray to the Lord.
May we seek harmony, not division
and speak truth, not gossip,
in our homes, schools, social media and workplaces.
We pray to the Lord.
May we hear those who cry for help,
give lavishly to our poor,
And be willing to sacrifice our comfort to satisfy their need.
We pray to the Lord.
May we have the courage to proclaim the Reign of God,
to remove oppression and break down fear.
We pray to the Lord.
May all our dead,
(Insert Names)
rest now in peace.
We pray to the Lord.
Prayer of the Faithful content may be used in whole or in part as part of the liturgy at any church, but they may not be copied and published online without prior written permission.
