Using Capos to Create More Dynamic Guitar Arrangements

Capos aren’t just for changing a song to a guitar-friendly key. They can also be a creative tool to use for finger-style arrangements or a different sound when strumming. In this video, Stan Stepnowski demonstrates options for using capos to create more dynamic arrangements, including using partial capos for alternate tunings.

Stan Stepnowski has been a liturgical musician for more than 30 years. He is currently a volunteer guitarist, mandolinist, and bassist at St. John the Evangelist church in Little Canada, Minnesota, as part of the contemporary ensemble alongside his wife and two sons.
