Twenty – Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

For our Church,
for voices which preach mercy, forgiveness, justice and peace
especially in the face of derision and reproach.
We pray to the Lord.

For a world filled with love,
for an eagerness to embrace and celebrate our differences.
We pray to the Lord.

For prophets in our midst,
for courage to speak God’s word,
for openness to listen to their voices.
We pray to the Lord.

For an end to war and terror
and our complacency in the face of violence.
For all who hunger or are without clean water.
For all who have lost their loved ones, and children who are now orphans.
We pray to the Lord.

For refugees, for immigrants, for all who seek safety and a homeland.
We pray to the Lord.

For a willingness to follow Christ,
for hearts aligned with the gospel,
not popular opinion or social convention.
We pray to the Lord.

And all who have died.
