Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

For our Church,
which gives a voice to the voiceless, hope to the downtrodden
and proclaims and models justice.
We pray to the Lord.

For leaders who believe in the common good.
Let them be women and men
with a preferential option for the poor and
right judgment for the oppressed.
We pray to the Lord.

For peace,
in our world, our homes, in our hearts.
We pray to the Lord.

For an end to attitudes of self-righteousness,
judgment, moral superiority and condescension.
Let us stand in humble need of prayer.
We pray to the Lord.

For ears to hear
the cry of our poor,
the pain of prejudice and discrimination,
the dreams of refugees.
We pray to the Lord.

For courage to stand against hatred,
for fortitude to challenge bigotry and misogyny,
for dignity and respect for all.
We pray to the Lord.

For all who have died,
for (Insert names),
may they receive their promised crown of righteousness.
We pray to the Lord.
