Second Sunday of Advent

Prayer of the Faithful for Second Sunday of Advent (Cycle B)

Come Lord Jesus,
may your Church herald your advent
throughout the wastelands, low places
and mountains of this world.
We pray to the Lord.

Fill in the valleys of discrimination and break down the walls of exclusion.
Make straight a highway for justice.
We pray to the Lord.

With your strong arm of power,
terminate war, terror and violence.
Usher in your reign of peace.
We pray to the Lord.

Instruct us in your ways,
that we may conduct ourselves in holiness and devotion
Ever watchful for your return.
We pray to the Lord.

Speak tenderly to those in sorrow,
Draw near to those abused,
Remove the weight from all who are heavily burdened.
We pray to the Lord.

Excise hatred and fear from hardened hearts,
Heal those broken in mind or spirit
Bind up bodies living with cancer, COVID or other illnesses.
We pray to the Lord.

Comfort all who have died or now live in the shadow of death,
We remember.
We pray to the Lord.

Prayer of the Faithful content may be used in whole or in part as part of the liturgy at any church, but they may not be copied and published online without prior written permission.
