Program policies

CLEF requires that all program participants be 18 years or older at the start of the summer program.

We will follow all health and safety protocols in place at the Jesuit Spiritual Center at Milford (JSC) and the state of Ohio at the time of the event.

Attendees are expected to follow all policies of the JSC.

All program activities, including social events, are limited to registered participants. No outside guests are allowed.

We take photographs and video and audio recordings during the program, which may be used by CLEF for marketing purposes. Attendees will be given an opportunity to opt out of photos/videos for marketing use at the beginning of the program.

Cancellation requests received in writing prior to June 14, 2024, will receive a full refund less a $50.00 processing fee. The refund will be processed after the 2024 CLEF Summer Program has ended. No refunds are given for cancellation requests received in writing on or after June 14, 2024. However, the requested refund amount less a $50.00 processing fee may be applied toward registration for the 2025 CLEF Summer Program.

By registering for the program, attendees agree to abide by these policies.

Financial support to attend

We encourage ensemble musicians to approach their pastor regarding financial support for attending the CLEF Summer Program. Many church communities have a budget specifically for training and development, which may be available even to volunteer musicians to attend a program like ours. Attending the CLEF Summer Program offers many benefits to your church community, and we have some downloadable resources that can help guide the conversation to request financial support.

Limited scholarships available

The CLEF Summer Program Scholarship provides opportunities for ensemble directors, instrumentalists, and singers to receive financial assistance to enable them to attend the CLEF Summer Program. Program participants experience ensemble formation techniques and skill building led by a team of experienced professional musicians and liturgists who are well regarded in their fields, and who are passionate instructors. Emphasis for choosing scholarship recipients will be placed on applicants who have never had an opportunity for ensemble enrichment or training experiences, and who come from smaller, rural, or culturally diverse church communities where resources are limited and professionally trained musicians are not common.
