Music Theory: Note Values and Rhythms

Knowing the difference between a whole note, half note, quarter note, and other common note values can make it easier to read rhythms, learn new music, and stay together with your ensemble.

In this CLEF Life video, we talk through the basics of note values and rhythm to help you build a stronger foundation for singing or playing with others.

Ray Mullins is a CLEF supporter who has served in music ministry and music education for two decades. He is a music teacher in Tennessee and volunteers as a music minister in various parishes in the Memphis area.
