Beginner Drills for Bass Guitar

Jeff “Mac” McLemore demonstrates some beginner drills for bass guitar to help you get acquainted with the instrument. Tips include right hand placement, which fingers to use when plucking strings, where to place fingers on the fretboard, and how to develop strength and precision in all four fingers on the left hand by moving up and down the fretboard.

Jeff “Mac” McLemore, a CLEF Summer Program faculty member, is known as the “first call” for bass guitar in the Cincinnati area and beyond. He has extensive experience with onstage and studio performance as well as playing bass for liturgical music.
