Ash Wednesday

For our Church,
May we be a witness to reconciliation, healing and hope.
We pray to the Lord.

For peace,
In our world, in our nation, in our lives.
We pray to the Lord.

For our poor, lonely, lost and forsaken,
For all who suffer because of our actions, attitudes and choices.
We pray to the Lord.

For a willingness to take up the challenge of Lent.
For eyes to see our own faults, sins
and God’s path to forgiveness and growth in the Spirit.
We pray to the Lord.

For an openness to the disciplines of Lent: to prayer, to fasting and to almsgiving.
We pray to the Lord.

For courage to live the gospel without compromise,
For the audacity to believe in Jesus’ way of love for all.
We pray to the Lord.

For all who have died,

And for those who love them.
We pray to the Lord.
