First Sunday of Lent

For our Church,
May we be a people of compassion, mercy and forgiveness.
Lord, may we love like you.
We pray to the Lord.

For peace in our world,
For our sisters and brothers in Ukraine, Sudan, Haiti, the Holy Land
and all places where fear and terror seek to reign.
We pray to the Lord.

For our hungry, our thirsty,
For all who woke up this morning without shelter or safety.
We pray to the Lord.

For those who suffer this day from our sins, our hard-heartedness, our bigotry.
We pray to the Lord.

For courage to embrace conversion,
For the resolution to walk our Lenten journey.
We pray to the Lord.

For Pope Francis and all afflicted in body, mind or spirit.
We pray to the Lord.

And all who now sleep in everlasting peace.
We pray to the Lord.
