Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time
Guide your Church to be a light to the nations,
That all people may know the joy of your truth
and the solace of your presence.
We pray to the Lord.
For peace,
for food, for clean water, for hope,
for healing of bodies, minds, spirits and relationships.
We pray to the Lord.
May love overwhelm hate, may kindness wash away cruelty,
May empathy and compassion overshadow
indifference and self-centeredness.
We pray to the Lord.
Teach your world to embrace the gift of diversity,
In language, culture, gender and identity,
In ourselves, our community, throughout all peoples.
We pray to the Lord.
Open hearts, hands and borders to refugees, immigrants
and all who seek a safe homeland.
We pray to the Lord.
With humility, teach us to accept the struggle of discipline.
For the capacity to grow in our relationship with the Lord.
We pray to the Lord.
For our sisters and brothers who now rest in eternal peace.
