Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

May the fire of the Spirit fill the mouths of all Church leaders
that they may boldly proclaim mercy, freedom and justice.
We pray to the Lord.

May government officials
set aside division and the struggle for supremacy,
and work for the good of all people.
We pray to the Lord.

May our world learn to prefer truth over popularity, love instead of power,
solidarity and goodness over greed and opulence.
We pray to the Lord.

May Christians live their baptism
and tirelessly work for an end
to racism, sexism, homophobia and discrimination in all its forms.
We pray to the Lord.

May we have the courage to embrace the Gospel,
especially when it is unpopular
We pray to the Lord.

May we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus,
who inspires and perfects our faith.
We pray to the Lord.

May those who have died,
(Insert names)
now share in Christ’s glory with all the ancestors of our faith.
We pray to the Lord.
