Thirty – Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
For leaders in the Church,
May they prefer service to our poor
To places of honor and seats of privilege.
We pray to the Lord.
For our elected officials,
For integrity, honesty,
and hearts and minds attuned to the needs of the people whom they serve.
We pray to the Lord.
For our poor,
For those who have little to give, yet share what they have.
We pray to the Lord.
For those whose hearts are hardened
against our poor, widows, orphans, immigrants
and all who receive welfare assistance.
We pray to the Lord.
For veterans,
We are especially mindful of those who struggle with PTSD,
and other service related injuries. we pray to the Lord.
We pray to the Lord.
For a clarity of spirit,
May we discern between “want” and “need”
Between sharing and greed,
Between love of affluence and simplicity of life.
We pray to the Lord.

And all who have died,
May they rest in eternal peace.
