Let the Church be a sign of voracious joy
and the peace for which our world longs.
We pray to the Lord.
May leaders of nations abandon acts of violence
and attitudes of superiority,
embracing community and solidarity.
We pray to the Lord.
Let legalism be overwhelmed by love;
Make our hearts like yours.
We pray to the Lord.
Open our eyes, O Emmanuel, to our own brokenness.
Gift us with that peace which is beyond our understanding.
We pray to the Lord.
May sharing replace gluttony
May bounty supplant miserliness
May justice subvert greed.
We pray to the Lord.
For our cold, homeless and hungry,
For all seeking a home and hope.
We pray to the Lord.
May those who have died,
