Using some form of shakers in liturgical ensemble music can add depth and color to the music, as well as keep the rhythm for both instrumentalists and vocalists. In this video, Brian Malone demonstrates the basics for playing different types of percussion shakers, including tambourine, egg shakers, and other creative options to add some simple percussion to your liturgical ensemble.
Brian Malone is one of the most in-demand percussionists and educators in the Midwest. He has been at All Saints Catholic Church for more than 17 years and is a regular performer with Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra.
