Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time
For our Church,
for a commitment to the integrity and struggles of the gospel.
For creativity, courage and patience in changing times.
We pray to the Lord.
For peace in the world,
for justice among nations and equality among peoples.
We are mindful of our sister and brothers in all places of war, terror and discrimination.
We pray to the Lord.
For ears to discern truth from falsity,
fact from fiction,
honesty from the lure of lies.
We pray to the Lord.
For our poor, unemployed, and bullied
for prisoners, detainees, refugees and all who care for them.
We pray to the Lord.
For all who are sick, or suffer in body, mind or spirit
for their families and caregivers.
We pray to the Lord.
For a willingness to grow and learn,
for knowledge of our faults, failings and sinfulness
for and openness to the movement of the Spirit in our lives.
We pray to the Lord.
For those who have died in the hope of rising again,
for (Insert Names),
for all the departed.
We pray to the Lord.
