Conducting From the Piano

Conducting from the piano can sometimes be a challenge, especially for church musicians who haven’t had formal training. Whether you’re leading a small ensemble or a larger choir, it’s important to communicate clearly while still playing. In this video, Lynné Gray teaches practical tips for conducting from the piano. You’ll learn how to cue confidently, lead transitions, and support your ensemble without losing the flow of the music.

Lynné Gray is a respected liturgist, arranger, director, composer, vocal coach, and accompanist. She shares her love of voice in ministry throughout the United States and has given numerous workshops. Lynné was blessed in 2008 to direct the Gospel Mass Choir during the Mass for Pope Benedict XVI.
